Cape Falcon F1 Kayak SOLD to Ed. Thanks Ed! Its ready to go! Normally the base price is $2500, and I’ll likely raise that in the near future. Built in February 2024, this boat is basically new with only 2 very short test paddles; once to test (every boat I build gets this test), and once to take the photos you see here. I built it for me, but in the boatbuilder’s version of the cobbler’s kids going without shoes, I need to sell it for space and bucks. This is the 185 pound version suitable for paddlers about that weight, and inseams up to 33 inches. More specifications listed below.

*In case you were wondering, this and all F1s I’ve built are sold with the full knowledge and consent of the designer. I might have built more F1s than any other boat.

Length: 14 feet 3 inches. Beam: 23.25 inches. Depth to sheer at backrest about 8.75” Coaming inside dimensions 16.5” x 30.5” Weight 31.5 pounds. Cedar and white oak frame covered with 9 ounce ballistic nylon with 3 coats of Spirit Line 2 part urethane, with an additional keel strip applied for a total of 4 coats on the keel. This is “Burnt Sienna” pigment which will age nicely with UV exposure.

You’ll notice it has minimal deck rigging which I did on purpose so you or I can rig it to your specifications. I can install perimeter lines, rear deck rigging, etc. Contact me to discuss. Below you see new old stock Harmony Slidelock footbraces which are no longer available. They are easy to use, very light, and contribute significantly to this boat weighing only 31.5 pounds. Its not likely I can build a 185 pound F1 this light again without sacrificing strength and toughness.

This kayak has a slightly wider than normal deck beam forward, and is stitched off to the side which offers the option of easy mounting of various accessories if you’re into to that.

A simple fabric hanging seat is included. Very comfortable when covered with the closed cell foam pad which is also included.
